The Brothers of Capital City High Twelve #777, in conjunction with Jackson Lodge #1 and the Rainbow Girls gathered Saturday, February 13th from 1pm to 4pm to celebrate the Masonic widows of the 7th Masonic District. Exquisite teas from all over the world, along with pastries and heavy hors d'oeuvres were provided. The event was well attended, and we expect to build upon the experience in the coming years to ensure a that our wonderful widows are assured of our unbounded love and support.
The newly-formed Capital City High Twelve #777 kicked things off with an astounding picnic in Meyers Park Saturday, October 24th. Roughly 20-30 members, families, and friends came out to indulge in fellowship and celebration for our new club. The weather could not have been more perfect. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and an assortment of potluck items filled our bellies, but good conversation, and hopes for a bright future filled our imaginations as brotherly love and affection prevailed as the true heroes of the day.

I hope your March is off to a great start! Last February was quite a busy month for Capital City #777. Along with Rainbow Girls and Jackson Lodge #1, we hosted our first High Tea with High Twelve in support of Masonic widows within the District. The event was well attended, and we look forward to building on events like this well into the future.
Our next scheduled meeting: Jackson Lodge, Thursday 3/17 at 6:00pm, where we will have the honor of hosting R:.W:. John Westerman. As always, please feel free to bring a brother and/or your significant other.
Dues: I will be collecting dues, which are $25 for the year, and should be paid in full by April 1, 2016. For those brothers who have paid, I have receipts and will distribute them at the meeting. If, for some reason, you are not able to make the meeting, but still need to pay your dues, you may make out the check to Capital City #777 and mail to the following address:

Just a reminder that we will be meeting briefly at Jackson Lodge tomorrow, Wednesday the 27th at 7 p.m. to go over two important agenda items.
First, we will go over some logistics for the High Tea with High Twelve Widow's Night Event on Saturday February 13th from 2-5 p.m. at Jackson Lodge.  We will be co-sponsoring the event with Jackson Lodge #1 & Rainbow Girls Chapter Whatever Number They Are.  Please see the attached invitations, including the gorgeous flier created by Brother Secretary Kerry Evans.
Secondly, Brothers Hemphill and Neal will be coming back from the High Twelve convention in New Orleans and wish to touch base with us to see how they could help and how we are doing.  Brother Hemphill is our current State President, while Brother Neal is the Immediate Past State President and International 2nd Vice President.
Following the brief meeting, I expect we can grab a bit and some beverages nearby.  I'm throwing Buffalo Wild Wings out there, but I'm open to suggestions.

I hope to see as many of you there as can make it.

I wished to send you some updates as to High Twelve business.  If you have not yet seen the state website, our State Officers have updated it with a brief write up and some pictures from the Installation.  I was also on a conference call last week with numerous other Club Presidents as well International President, Brother Jerry Saville, who sends his regards from California.  They are excited for us, particularly since, in their own words, “I don’t think they had a single guy over 50 there!”  For real, though, they were incredibly pleased to see our enthusiasm and relative youth (considering that all the state officers have been Master Masons between 35-50 years).

For the sake of efficiency, I wanted to send out a tentative agenda for our next meeting as well as a tentative schedule through January.  I ran this by a couple of officers, to get their input, but regardless, I appreciate you humoring my Enlightened Dictatorship as we get Capital City High Twelve #777 up and running.  Next month’s meeting will hopefully be the only business meeting that could take a bit of time which we should need.  If we are still a few months into this and our meetings go longer than 20 minutes, then we’re doing something wrong.

Regarding a Calendar of events, here is the tentative schedule:

  • October 20th Stated Meeting followed by post-meeting festivities @ Buffalo Wild Wings (65 cent traditional wings)
  • October 24th Picnic at Tom Brown or Meyers Park (Noles out of Town; City of Tallahassee getting me info on reserving pavilions and cost; Will forward that in a couple of days)
  • November 17th Meeting & Meal (arbitrarily throwing Parlay Sports Bar out there for some darts, cigars, and food and drink on their Porch; open to suggestions between now and next month’s meeting, though)
  • December 12th – No Meeting; Saturday for High Twelve Day on 12/12 at 12 noon, i.e. actual High Twelve (location TBD)
  • January 18th Meeting and post-meeting meal
  • March Meeting:  Dues (Don’t want to hammer you guys with another bill in
  • December/January; Right now, we are thinking $25 which includes $10 for International Dues, $6 for State, and $9 for club, but this will be subject to vote)

Regarding the Agenda for our October 20th Meeting:

  • We should expect a visit from the Walcott Foundation fellow to tell us about the Foundation, as it’s the High Twelve charity
  • Vote on Dues
  • Vote on Club Banner
  • Approve the Calendar for the next few months
  • Discuss procedure for new members
  • Anything else
